I've just got stuck in a map... is there a way to get out again? Who should I call? Ghostbusters?
(I got trapped behind a gate after Prince Ruik opened it to free some prisoners, and my stupid cat is jammed up behind me) Last edited by Morat; May 20, 2005 at 11:34 AM // 11:34.. |

The game is setup to use restricted movement as tactics for PvP and PvE. Missions are designed with this in mind.
It's not rushed. It's polished. And it was intended to be restrictive. |

Not being able to go into deep water, climb up a vertical mountain, or have to use /jump to jump is no game breaker be me considering all the positives this game brings to the table. |

Agh!!
Did Final Fantasy have jumping? No! Shadow Hearts? No! Phantasy Star or Chrono Trigger? No, and no! Star Ocean? Nope! Some of the greatest games of all time did not need jumping to rock your gaming world, and neither does Guild Wars. (Please note that none of those games had swimming either. ) If this game was actually an MMORPG, then it would probably have those things. But it's not. It's about the strategy and skill, not the ability to run behind someone at the exact moment to explot a glitch where they're spells won't work if you are standing in a certain spot! Removing the free roaming environment also removes innumerable bugs that would negatively affect the gaming experience. Trust me, it's a good thing. P.S. Yes, I know the Final Fantasy Legend III had jumping. But come on: It was only one out of fifteen. |
